While hiring volumes at the beginning of the pandemic decreased, they are picking back up. We’ve seen a particular uptick in certain types of positions — Primary Care, Telehealth, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care and Express Care. As vaccination rates increase, health systems are seeing patient volumes increase because people are no longer putting off or delaying medical care. As a result, strategic growth initiatives that may have been on hold because of the pandemic are back on the agenda for the foreseeable future. We are seeing many new clinics open their doors for the first time, and many specialty positions are now being reprioritized. While volumes may still be slightly down, our hiring teams are more committed than ever to hiring for the openings we do have. You can refer to our job search page to search those job openings.
This depends on the health system and facility. It’s typically a mix of virtual and face-to-face interviews. Many health systems are no longer hosting full-day site visits, opting instead for a shorter visit where candidates only meet with people key to that position. Virtual screenings and interviews are still playing a big part in the selection process. Most likely, you will only experience an in-person interview if you are among the final few candidates. Our recruiters understand the nuances involved with each of our partners and can help you navigate each individual situation.
Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Almost all health systems are offering them for final candidates. It remains important to make a good impression virtually, as that is how all candidates are being initially screened. As always, our recruiters are here to guide you through the interview and offer process and are available to answer specific questions you may have.
If your contract includes relocation assistance, it will take place per usual. Most preboarding and onboarding activities have shifted to online platforms. Your recruiter will be happy to give you more details as it pertains to a specific position
COVID protocols are still evolving almost weekly at every health care facility as COVID cases increase and decrease. Our recruiters and hiring managers can help you navigate current workflows and protocols, as well as PPE requirements. We always let our candidates know how to best prepare for a site visit and how all COVID protocols and concerns are being handled throughout the hiring process.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, passed by Congress to supply $2 trillion in relief, includes automatic suspension of principal and interest payments on federally held student loans through September 2021. To determine whether your loan is federally held, log on to studentaid.gov, look at the loan detail and see if it lists the Department of Education as the lender.
If you have private loans, reach out to your servicer, which may be offering some form of relief. If your federal loans are in default, look into entering a loan rehabilitation program. And beware of scammers, who will usually contact you with a sense of urgency. You can learn more about the CARES Act here.
